The ms Prinsendam is an extraordinary ship. Designed expressly to explore the rare corners of the world, the ms Prinsendam accommodates less than 800 guests, giving our guests the intimate feel of a yacht with the spaciousness of a large cruise ship. Our "Elegant Explorer" is known for her long range, exotic itineraries - most notably the 100-day-plus Grand World Voyage - and her elegant, sophisticated decor. The ms Prinsendam completed all Signature of Excellence enhancements to her public rooms and staterooms in Spring 2005.
The ms Prinsendam boasts 22 spacious public rooms, features commanding ocean views in 93 percent of her staterooms and private verandahs in 67 percent of her staterooms. Mid-ship guests will find a special signature sculpture suspended in a soaring three-story atrium that features etched fish, turtles and dolphins climbing a stunning cylinder of Bolle glass, lit with state-of-the-art fiber optics. With fine details such as highly polished woodwork, soft colors, marble flooring, and a world-class spa and fitness center, the "Elegant Explorer" is truly a classic ship worthy of her name.

Holland America emphasizes that passengers dress for comfort during the day onboard as well as on shore at the ports of call. Evening wear includes both formal and “smart casual” categories. Slacks and collared shirts for men set a good example of that qualifies at ‘smart casual” while this category includes casual dresses, slacks and informal variations of evening wear for women.
