Viking Century Sky

Built in 2005/2006, the Viking Century Sky offers a maximum of 306 passengers the comfort and amenities you would expect from a five-star hotel—for example, her grand lobby, elegant restaurant, well-appointed gym and onboard beauty salon. The ship boast a lounge bar, a sheltered bar on the sun deck with breathtaking 360-degree views, and an elegant cafeteria on the promenade deck. The spacious staterooms all have outside views and private balconies. You will cruise in comfort and with peace of mind knowing that the ships are equipped with the state-of-the art navigation and safety systems in line with our philosophy to offer our guests only the best.

Activities

Reception/Lobby
The middle deck lobby area is a great place to get information or meet up with friends. Your Cruise Manager’s desk is located here, so that you can easily ask questions or discuss the day’s activities. There is a small seating area, a 24-hour tea and coffee station with a fruit basket, an onboard shop and restrooms. There is a PA system so the day’s events can be announced; there is also an Internet station in the lobby area, so you can check your email.

Library
The library has comfortable seating and excellent reading light. Our ships’ libraries carry approximately 80 books, in various languages but mostly English, and several games such as chess, backgammon and playing cards.

Sun Deck
Enjoy sunshine and fresh air while you take in 360-degree views of the scenery as you sail past castles, towns, villages, trees and vineyards. Stand at the railings or relax in a comfortable deck chair—cushions are available. Some of the seating has a canopy for those who prefer shade.

Shop
Located in the midsection of this deck, the onboard shop offers items to help you enjoy—or remember—your journey. There is an excellent selection of gift items to bring home. access way from the sun deck to the bridge.

Dining

Restaurant
The restaurant is where all meals are served during your cruise. Because it features panoramic windows, you will not miss any of the scenery while you are dining. It seats 154 guests at 24 tables which vary in size, accommodating 4, 6 or 8 guests per table. The dining room is open seating, so you are free to sit where you like—a great way to make new friends. The atmosphere is casual but elegant, with high-quality table linens, china, cutlery and glassware. The room has a stereo system for playing quiet music during meals.

Entertainment

Observation Lounge / Bar
The Observation Lounge is a terrific place to meet old and new friends before and after meals. It boasts a large sitting area with chairs, small tables, sofas and a bar area with barstools. The lounge has a projector and screen installed in the ceiling, so slides can be shown, and there is a stereo system and dance floor.

Lotus Bar
This spacious bar, featuring large picture windows and about three dozen small tables with comfortable chairs, is an excellent place to relax over a drink and enjoy conversation or a book while you watch the scenery.

Located in the midsection of this deck, there is a conference room available to guests by prior arrangement for meetings or private functions.

Gratuities

Viking River Cruises recommend a gratuity of 10-12 dollars per person, per day.

Dress

Viking River Cruises recommend a comfortable, casual wardrobe for onboard and ashore. During the evening they recommend ‘evening casual” and the Capain’s dinner is slightly dressier, but not formal.
