Anchorage
Anchorage Offers Endless Amazement
Alaska’s biggest city is Anchorage, located on the Cook Inlet. It’s a gate to the land they call the Last Frontier — and a prime stop for Alaska cruise ships. However, this city is also known for paying homage to indigenous history — the Alaska Native Heritage Center overflows with traditional crafts and performances.
Anchorage is also known for nearby national parks and natural attractions. These include Chugach, Kenai and Talkeetna. Of course, there’s also Kenai Fjords National Park for amazing scenery. If you really want to be wowed, head to Wrangell-Saint Elias and see a glacier larger than Rhode Island!
If you can afford the time while visiting Anchorage, see whales, otters, and calving glaciers at Kenai Fjords National Park, or head inland to Denali National Park — the place to go to see the tallest mountain in Alaska.
