Princess Cruises Gratuities Policy
Princess Cruises refers to its daily gratuity as Crew Appreciation.
Crew Appreciation is automatically added to each guest’s onboard account each day and is distributed to crew members throughout the fleet who contribute to the guest experience, including team members in Dining, Bar, Entertainment, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Galley, and Onboard Revenue.

Prepaying Crew Appreciation
Guests may prepay Crew Appreciation before sailing through Manage Booking.
If Crew Appreciation is already included as part of a Princess Plus, Princess Premier, or other applicable package, no additional daily Crew Appreciation charge will be added for the covered amount.
Adjusting Crew Appreciation
Guests may adjust the Crew Appreciation amount while onboard.
Any adjustment must be made before disembarkation and before the onboard account is settled.
If the amount is not adjusted before leaving the ship, the payment becomes final and is not refundable after the cruise.
Service Charge
Princess Cruises automatically adds a nonrefundable 20% service charge to many optional onboard purchases that are not included in the cruise fare.
This may include:
- Beverages
- Specialty dining
- Selected dining purchases
- Private group functions
- Other optional onboard products, services, and amenities
If the applicable service charge is included through Princess Plus, Princess Premier, or another eligible package, guests will not be charged an additional service charge for purchases covered by that package.
Princess Plus and Princess Premier
Both Princess Plus and Princess Premier currently include Crew Appreciation.
Princess Plus and Premier also include applicable gratuities on eligible food and beverage purchases covered by the package.
Guests may still provide additional tips directly to individual crew members if they wish to recognize exceptional service.
