Viking Ocean Cruises Gratuities Policy
Gratuities are generally not included in Viking Ocean cruise fares, unless specifically included as part of a promotion or booking offer.
Viking recommends gratuities of $20 USD per guest, per night for onboard staff.
Guests may:
- Prepay gratuities before departure through My Viking Journey
- Allow the recommended gratuity amount to be added automatically to their onboard account
- Visit Guest Services onboard to adjust the amount or arrange payment in cash
Gratuities are shared among onboard team members who contribute to the guest experience, including dining, housekeeping, galley, laundry, and other supporting staff.
Shore Excursion Guides and Drivers
Guests may also choose to tip local guides and drivers.
Viking's suggested amounts are:
- Local guides: $3 USD per guest, per day, or equivalent local currency
- Local drivers: $2 USD per guest, per day, or equivalent local currency
These gratuities are discretionary and may be given at the end of the tour.
