MSC Cruises Dress Code

MSC Cruises generally follows a relaxed daytime dress code, with a more polished look recommended for evenings.

Daytime Attire

Casual clothing is appropriate during the day.

Guests may wear:

  • Casual tops
  • Jeans
  • Skirts
  • Dresses
  • Other comfortable resort wear

Swimwear should be reserved for pools and other appropriate recreational areas.

Evening Wear

For evenings in the Main Dining Rooms, specialty restaurants, theaters, bars, and lounges, MSC recommends a more polished appearance.

Suggested attire includes:

  • Collared shirts
  • Tailored pants
  • Tailored shorts
  • Skirts
  • Dresses
  • Smart casual tops

A light jacket or sweater may also be useful in air-conditioned areas or on cooler evenings.

Gala Night

MSC Cruises offers Gala Nights on selected evenings.

Guests are encouraged to dress elegantly, but formalwear is not mandatory.

Participation in themed attire is optional.

Dress Restrictions

MSC may enforce specific clothing restrictions in certain venues.

  • Swimwear is not permitted in formal dining venues at any meal.
  • Shorts, flip-flops, and tank tops are not permitted for Evening Wear or Gala Night in Main Dining Rooms, specialty restaurants, or MSC Yacht Club.
  • T-shirts are not permitted during Gala Night in these venues.
  • Guests should follow any additional dress requirements posted outside buffet restaurants or other onboard venues. 

MSC Yacht Club

MSC Yacht Club has additional dress recommendations.

By day: casual clothing is permitted, but swimwear is not allowed in the Yacht Club Restaurant or Top Sail Lounge.

By night: smart casual attire is required in the Yacht Club Restaurant and Top Sail Lounge. Dresses, skirts, long pants, jeans, and button-down tops are appropriate, while shorts and flip-flops should be avoided.

Gala evenings: elegant attire is strongly recommended, including cocktail dresses, skirts, slacks, designer jeans, blazers, tuxedos, or gowns.

Shore Excursions

Guests should also dress appropriately for local customs and destination requirements.

Visits to religious or cultural sites may require covered shoulders and knees.
