Smoking Policy - Norwegian Cruise Line

Public areas throughout Norwegian Cruise Line ships are generally smoke-free, except for designated smoking areas.

Indoor Areas

Cigar Lounges: Cigar smoking is permitted in designated cigar lounges. Cigarettes, pipes, electronic cigarettes and vapor devices are not permitted in cigar lounges. On ships without a cigar lounge, cigar and pipe smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.

Casinos: Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Encore have designated smoking rooms within the casino. On other ships, active casino players may smoke cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and vapor devices in the casino during gaming hours. Cigar and pipe smoking is not permitted in casinos.

Staterooms and Balconies: Smoking cigarettes, cigars, pipes, electronic cigarettes and vapor devices is prohibited in staterooms and on balconies. Guests who violate this policy will be charged a $250 USD cleaning fee. Additional charges may apply for damage caused by smoking.

Guests staying in Garden Villas may smoke in their private garden and private sun deck areas.

Outdoor Areas

Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor smoking areas.

Smoking, including cigars, pipes, electronic cigarettes and vapor devices, is not permitted in or near:

  • Food service venues
  • Jogging tracks
  • Outdoor sporting venues
  • Children's pool areas
  • Vibe Beach Club
  • Posh Beach Club
  • The Waterfront

The Haven: Smoking is not permitted in The Haven courtyard. On Breakaway Class and Breakaway Plus Class ships, smoking is permitted in the designated forward area of The Haven Sun Deck.

Designated outdoor smoking locations vary by ship.
