HX Expeditions Pregnancy Policy
Pregnant guests are welcome to travel with HX Expeditions provided they meet the cruise line's medical requirements.
Guests are not permitted to board if they will be 24 weeks pregnant or more at the end of the voyage.
Pregnant guests should consult their doctor before traveling, particularly because many HX Expeditions voyages visit remote destinations where immediate specialist medical care may not be available.
Antarctica Expeditions
Guests traveling to Antarctica must complete HX Expeditions' Medical Screening Form.
Pregnant guests completing the form must provide the number of weeks pregnant they will be at the end of the voyage.
The Medical Screening Form:
- Can generally be started up to 4 months before departure
- Becomes available 3 months before departure for group bookings
- Must be completed 6 weeks before departure
HX reviews the submitted information to assess fitness for expedition travel.
Expedition Activities
Some optional excursions and expedition activities may not be suitable for pregnant guests even when the guest meets the overall cruise pregnancy policy.
Activity restrictions vary depending on physical demands, transportation, terrain, and local operating conditions. For example, HX currently identifies some RIB boat, kayaking, and snorkeling excursions as unsuitable for pregnant guests.
