Costa Cruises Children's Age Requirements
Minimum Age to Sail
Infants must be at least 6 months old at the time of embarkation.
Infants must be at least 12 months old at embarkation for:
- Transatlantic cruises
- World Cruises
- Cruises lasting 15 days or longer
- Other itineraries that Costa Cruises determines may present a serious risk to infants requiring emergency medical care
Guests Under 21
Guests under age 21 may not generally travel alone.
Costa may permit a guest under 21 to sail when the guest:
- Travels in the same stateroom with someone age 25 or older
- Travels in the same stateroom with their spouse
- Travels with a parent or guardian staying in an accompanying stateroom
- Is a qualified member of the U.S. military
Proof of age and, where applicable, proof of marriage may be required.
On certain departures, guests ages 21–24 may also be required to have at least one person age 25 or older in the same stateroom.
Onboard Restrictions
Alcohol:
The minimum drinking age is 21 on cruises embarking or disembarking guests at U.S. ports and 18 on other cruises, subject to applicable laws and nationality requirements.
Casino:
Guests under age 18 may not gamble in the onboard casino.
Spa Facilities:
Guests under age 18 may be restricted from using onboard spa facilities.
Shore Excursions:
Guests under age 18 must generally be accompanied by an adult on shore excursions, except where a specific excursion is designed for minors and supervised by authorized guides or entertainment staff.
Costa may also impose onboard curfews for guests under 18.
