Minimum Age to Sail:
Infants must be at least 6 months old at the time of embarkation to sail. For trans-ocean crossings and remote itineraries with more than 2 consecutive sea days, infants must be at least 12 months old.
Guests Under 21 Years of Age:
All guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone who is at least 21 years old.
One adult chaperone is required for every five guests under the age of 21.
Alcohol Consumption:
The legal drinking age onboard is 21 years old.
For voyages that depart from and return to:
- Australia, New Zealand, Europe, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, or Taiwan: Guests 18 years or older may purchase or consume alcohol.
- Japan: Guests must be 20 years or older to purchase or consume alcohol.
Minors Traveling Abroad:
- Minors under the age of 18 traveling to certain foreign countries must either be accompanied by both parents or possess a notarized letter of consent signed by the absent parent(s).
- If a minor has only one legal parent or the other parent is deceased, a notarized statement must be provided as proof.
- All minors under the age of 18 must travel with the appropriate identification and a signed letter of authorization.
- U.S. citizen minors should have an original, photocopy, or certified original of a government-issued birth certificate or other proof of citizenship. Passports are required for guests of any age traveling outside of the Western Hemisphere.
Responsibility for Minors:
Parents, guardians, and chaperones are responsible for the supervision of minors in their care at all times.
Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian on all tours for safety and liability reasons.
Minors should not be left unsupervised onboard, similar to being in large resorts or theme parks.
Minors Going Ashore:
Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding if minors under the age of 16 can go ashore without adult supervision.
If you want to permit a minor to go ashore without an adult, it must be discussed with the ship's Security Officer to make a notation in the gangway control system.
