Seabourn Cruise Line Children's Age Requirements
General Cruises
Guests must be at least 6 months old at the time of embarkation.
Trans-Ocean and Remote Itineraries
Guests must be at least 12 months old at the time of embarkation for:
- Trans-ocean crossings
- Remote itineraries
- Other cruises with more than 2 consecutive sea days
Antarctica and Expedition Cruises
Guests must be at least 6 years old at the time of embarkation to sail on:
- Antarctica voyages
- Expedition Cruises
For individual expedition excursions and landings, the Captain and Expedition Leader make the final determination as to whether a guest age 6 or older may participate.

- Landing conditions
- Difficulty of disembarkation
- Other safety considerations
Guests Under 21
Guests under age 21 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone who is at least 21 years old.
Seabourn currently requires one adult chaperone for every five guests under age 21.
Guests under 21 must generally travel in a suite with a guest age 21 or older who assumes responsibility for their care.
Family Groups With Multiple Suites
For families booking multiple suites, at least one guest in each suite may be 16 years or older, provided the guest is traveling with a parent or legal guardian.
Children’s Programs and Babysitting
Seabourn is not primarily designed as a family cruise line and does not provide traditional supervised children's clubs or babysitting services.
Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising minors in their care and ensuring they follow all ship policies and safety requirements.
Traveling With Minors
Additional travel documentation may be required when a child travels with only one parent or with an adult who is not their parent or legal guardian.
For example, Seabourn requires an original parental authorization letter in certain circumstances when a minor is traveling with someone other than their parent or legal guardian.
