MSC Cruises Children's Age Requirements
Young Adults and Minors:
For passengers traveling on MSC Cruises, the following age requirements apply:
- On cruises with a USA port, guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- A young adult is defined as anyone aged 18, 19, or 20. Parents and guardians are fully responsible for the behavior and appropriate supervision of their accompanying minors (under 18 years) and young adults (18-20 years) throughout the entire vacation.
- This responsibility applies at all times, including during transfers to and from the ship, while on board, at terminals, during shore excursions, and at MSC's private destinations, regardless of whether the parents or guardians are physically with the minor(s) or young adult(s).
Alcohol and Gambling Restrictions:
Passengers under the age of 21 on cruises that include a USA port, or under the age of 18 on cruises that do not include a USA port, are prohibited from purchasing or consuming alcoholic beverages and participating in gambling activities on board.
Travel Documentation for Minors:
- If a minor (under 18 years) is traveling with only one parent, a signed authorization letter from the absent parent, in accordance with the laws of the minor’s country of residence, must be provided at the time of booking.
If a minor is traveling with passengers other than their parents or legal guardians, a signed document from the minor’s parents or legal guardian, authorizing the minor to travel with a designated individual, must also be provided at the time of booking, in line with MSC's policies.
