Exploring the most remote parts of the world has never been easier with Norwegian Coastal Line Hurtigruten's Fram. Launched in 2007, the smallest, most modern ship in the Hurtigruten fleet was designed for expedition cruises. During the Northern Hemisphere's warmer months, Fram takes passengers to Greenland, Iceland and Svalbard. In the austral summer, it takes guests on lengthy transatlantic crossings between the poles. Inspired by the wooden sailing ship built for Fridtjof Nansen's North Pole expedition, Fram offers passengers a true polar experience. Special Arctic-region artwork and glass sculptures adorn the walls, and historic objects from the Fram Museum in Oslo, Norway, are also on display. The interior of the ship is stylish, with warm blond woods and luxurious fabrics. Most of Fram's guests are adventure-seekers between 50 and older, with a mix of non-North American and American/Asian travelers.
